The accommodation in the cottage is comfortably traditional with a pleasant open-plan kitchen/sitting-room with views over a paddock and the valley and the handsome stone-built 19th century farm buildings. The cottage itself is a former piggery built in the 1860’s and is adjacent to but quite separate from the 17th century farmhouse.
A wood-fired hot-tub is available for guests to enjoy from the beginning of April to the end of October.
In the sitting room there are two comfortable sofas and a wood-burning-stove. For evening entertainment after days spent discovering the beautiful coast or the magical hills of west Wales, there is television with dvd player, a radio and wifi, a large selection of dvds and many books.
The well-equipped kitchen has a large farmhouse table seating 4 people. There is an electric cooker, micro-wave oven, fridge, toaster, electric kettle & all the necessary china, glass, cutlery and utensils.
The two bedrooms, a double and a twin, are full of character and simply furnished with all beds being supplied with organic wool duvets. The double bed is made of oak harvested from the woods on the farm and the twin beds are built in a quirky style reminiscent of traditional old Welsh cottage cupboard beds. The beds all have traditional Welsh wool counterpanes. All bedlinen is provided.
The bathroom has a bath, wash-basin, lavatory, heated towel rail and washing-machine. Towels are provided.
Oil-fired central-heating is available from 1st October – 1st May at no extra cost.
The hot-tub is available from the beginning of April to the end of October.
All fuel for the wood-burner & hot tub, electricity, bedlinen & towels are included in the cost. Basic household items including washing-up liquid, laundry liquid & eco-friendly cleaning materials are supplied.
One well-behaved dog is welcome at a charge of £20. (Please note, we do ask that dogs are not left unattended in the cottage at any time. Many of the pubs, restaurants & attractions in the area are dog-friendly.)
We regret that the cottage is not suitable for children under 5 years old.
The cottage sleeps 4 people only.
The cost of renting the cottage is £630 per week low season and £700 per week high season & school holidays. Short breaks are available out of peak seasons & school holidays at £225 for a minimum stay of 3 nights.
The farm is a member of the Soil Association and guests can request a free-of charge farm walk to see the day-to-day running of a dairy farm. The farm is open to groups and individuals who are intererested to see a real working farm at first hand. We have taken part in Open Farm Sunday on several occasions and have hosted occasional open days and farm walks for many years. We do not charge for farm tours.
