What We Do . . .

Penyrallt Home Farm is a 140 acre organic, traditional, mixed, family farm, certificated by the Soil Association. It has been run by the Robinson family since 1960.

The farm’s main enterprises are the production of milk, beef and lamb, without the use of chemical fertilisers or artificial inputs.

The farm has been run organically since 1996. The farm has a herd of milking cows, a flock of breeding ewes and a few head of beef cattle. A small herd of the rare Traditional Hereford cattle is also kept.

Within the farm's 140 acres, there are areas of woodland and a tributary of the famous salmon river, the Teifi, the small river Siedi runs along the bottom boundary of the farm.

As well as mainstream farming activities we also keep bees, run a sawmill to process our wood into furniture for the house and cottage and also are involved in the Welsh environmental scheme Tir Gofal.

Wildlife abounds here. We have resident badgers, foxes, owls, bats and otters. There are three ponds on the farm where we have seen kingfishers, herons, wild duck and geese. Lapwings occasionally fly over and red kites are often seen, as are buzzards and sparrowhawks. Wild flowers of many kinds can be found in Spring and Summer growing in the fields and hidden corners of the farm.

Splendid views across the valley
